Donate to Habitat at Georgia Gives on Giving Tuesday

Augusta/CSRA Habitat for Humanity, Inc. is a proud participant in Georgia Gives on Giving Tuesday. You may donate from now until November 28th. We would appreciate you considering us in your giving plans this year.

Augusta/CSRA Habitat builds strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. Every day families work hard to earn a living yet struggle with shelter because of the high cost of a decent place to live, others live in substandard conditions because it is what they can afford. Habitat gives families (one family at a time) the opportunity to strengthen and stabilize their family by offering them a chance to purchase their own affordable home, a place to raise a family without worry.

Families have a mentor coach and attend financial and homeownership classes preparing for homeownership. Volunteers working alongside the future homeowners provide the labor force for home construction. Funding for the house construction is provided through donors like you, sponsors, and grants. The Habitat for Humanity model is a pay it forward program. Each family that purchases a low cost home is now paying a no-interest mortgage. The monthly mortgage payments become funds used to prepare future families and build future homes. Your donation helps now and in the future. Please click

We are now accepting pre-applications for new homeowner partners

As you may know, we had so much demand for houses that we stopped taking pre-applications for a time. We have now reopened the homeowner partner process and are accepting pre-applications once again.

Homeowner families are chosen according to their need; their ability to repay the no-profit, no-interest mortgage; and their willingness to work in partnership with Habitat.

Building your own home through Habitat for Humanity is well worth the effort you will invest.

The first step in the process is to complete a pre-application form. These forms are available at both of our ReStore locations: 1004 Walton Way, Augusta, GA, 30901 and 3112 Washington Rd, Augusta, GA, 30907. You may also download and print the pre application by clicking the link below. Fill out the form and mail it to the preprinted address or drop it off at one of the ReStores.

House 76 Groundbreaking

We have just started construction on our 76th house. We had the official groundbreaking last Friday. We are so excited. Check VolunteerUp for construction volunteer opportunities. Click here to go to VolunteerUp.

We Love Deed Burnings!

You know what is more exciting for us than starting a new house building project? It is when one of our partners pays off their home! Gia and Tina have both paid off their Habitat homes after 20 and 25 years, respectively. We are so proud of these two women. This is an incredible accomplishment. Congratulations!

We had a “deed burning” ceremony last Thursday to celebrate this milestone. Many members of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director and staff, and a number of volunteers were in attendance. This is what Habitat is all about.

Congratulations to Cadaciza on Her New Habitat Home!

Congratulations to Cadaciza Freeman and her family! Check out the photos from the dedication of House 75, a joyous occasion here at Habitat. Cadaciza and her three lovely children now own their own home. Thanks to all our volunteers and donors. Especially to Publix Supermarket Charities. Organizations that provided major volunteer work hours included ADP, Blanchard and Calhoun, Career Personnel, Naval Intelligence Operations Command, US Air Force 3rd IS, US Air Force 5th IS, US Air Force 31st IS, and Wells Fargo.

Thank you ADP volunteers

We love our volunteers. Today, we had groups from ADP at each ReStore and the amount of needed work that got done was amazing. Many people do not realize that our volunteer opportunities go beyond just house construction. We always welcome volunteers at our ReStores. Thanks again, ADP. The pictures are the group that was at the downtown ReStore.

If you would like to volunteer for one of the ReStores or on a construction project, please click here. ReStore opportunities are available Tuesday through Saturday and house construction opportunities are normally on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. We are starting a new house on September 5th.
